National Review, hardly uncritical of Trump, is saying that he and the Republican Congress got a lousy deal through political malpractice.
Why is it a bad deal? Because Trump didn’t get as much “wall” money as he wanted or even as he had before shutting down the government for 5 weeks.
Oh, really? Is a “wall” that important? Yes, because it was his core promise. And because it was lost through malpractice.
So it’s important to be competent in pursuing contemptible promises of wasteful projects made for demagogic purposes because … #winning.
