🎶 I’ve been reorganizing my CD collection and came across one of my very favorites: In Praise of the Organ: Latin Choral and Organ Music of Zoltán Kodály (Pro Organo 7027).
It’s a favorite because the chorus is Lafayette’s Bach Chorale Singers (now Lafayette Master Chorale), and we worked our tails off to be worthy of the organist, repertoire and professional recording.
Listening to it – and especially Kodály’s setting of Pange Lingua (which unfailingly reduces me to tears of joy) – I think we succeeded. (The Gloria in his Missa Brevis isn’t bad, either.)
20 years since the release, but I believe we recorded in June of 1998. I’m thrilled to read that they plan an MP3 re-release.
